“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” - Psalms 127:1 NIV
Have you ever grown tired of waiting for the Lord’s answer regarding a situation in your life and decided to make a decision based on your own desires or maybe even other’s opinions on the situation? Has there been a time that despite seeing numerous “red flags,” you took action on an issue without waiting on God’s guidance? Waiting on the Lord can make us all anxious but it is an essential component of not only our Christian walk but also a key part of the process used in searching for the next pastor. Working outside of the will of God and moving against His guidance only leads down a path of destruction and pain. Rushing the process can be detrimental to our church.
Know that your Pastor Search Team is committed to continuous prayer and patience as we wait on the Lord to guide our steps this search process. Please join us in specifically praying for the team’s:
- discernment in establishing the search process and candidate’s criteria;
- unity as a group; and
- clarity in hearing God’s voice throughout the process and during individual prayer time.
