The Local Missions ministry exists to help Sagemont members take their next step in following Jesus by going out and sharing His love and the good news of the gospel right here in our community.
We would love for you to join us! Here are some ways you can get involved:
The Great Commission Initiative Evangelism Teams
We are saturating a 5-mile radius with the gospel. We go out every other Saturday for 2-3 hours. Our goals for the next three years are:
- Visit 2000 businesses. We want to pray with the employees and share the gospel.
- Have 64,000 gospel conversations.
- Train 300 believers through the missions cohort
- Partner with 30 churches in this area who have the same heart for sharing the gospel.
Sagemont Serve Team
At Sagemont, we want to be sure we are loving and serving each other well. Sometimes members have physical needs in their homes that they cannot meet, but other members of our church family have the skills and abilities to help. Volunteers that are part of this Serve Team will be contacted when needs arise within our church as we help connect members of our family together. If you would like to serve on the team (men or women can join), sign up HERE. A background check is required for all team members.
CROP Ministry (Church Reaching Out to People)
The mission is to minister to others in Jesus’ name. As our church members and visitors submit prayer requests to our church, our Prayer Team will pray for these needs. We need men and women who love to petition to God for the needs of others to join our Prayer Team. If you have a prayer need or want to join the CROP Prayer Team, please contact Gerry Saccane by phone (713.679.1989) or by .
Fathers In The Field
Growing up without a father figure can be extremely difficult. To combat this issue in our community, Sagemont Church has partnered with Fathers in the Field, an organization whose mission is to pair young boys with godly mentors to guide and spend time with them. Over the past year of our partnership, we have seen God move in the lives of fatherless boys in our community…and HE IS NOT DONE. There are boys in need of a mentor and are seeking godly men who are willing to step up, put their faith into action, and make a difference in a boy’s life.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a mentor, please email . If you want to learn more about Fathers in the Field, please visit their website at FathersInTheField.com.
Helping Hands Food Pantry
All year long, people from all ages and circumstances are able to get food as they are in need. However, they are not just receiving help for their physical needs. Our volunteers are also attending to their spiritual needs through praying for them, sharing the Gospel, and inviting them to come to church. Come be a part of what the Lord is doing through this food pantry! Some suggested food items that are needed include canned veggies, canned fruits, canned meats, canned meals, sauces, pasta, beans, rice, dry and hot cereals, peanut butter, jelly/preserves, snacks like granola bars, pretzels, fruit chews, fruit rolls, dried fruit, nuts, and seeds. Donate as the Lord leads you!
You can place your donations in our “Contribution Shopping Carts” that are located throughout our main church campus or bring them directly to the Sagemont Annex building Tuesday through Thursday 9:00am – Noon or 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
Willing Hands Quilt Ministry
The mission of our "Willing Hands" quilt ministry is to bless at-risk populations in the Sagemont community with small quilts. Dedicated volunteers pray, cut, design, sew, press, and construct these unique hand-made quilts. Through these small quilts may others be comforted, be encouraged, and come to know the love of Jesus. They make quilts for our "Fostering Love" closet, Inspira (Crisis Pregnancy Center), and our homeless community. God has provided for this ministry with donations of fabric, gift cards, and monetary contributions. If you have "Willing Hands" and a praying heart, come and join! They meet on Thursday mornings at the Sagemont annex auditorium from 9:30am to 12:00pm. If you have any questions, please contact
