This is night of double encouragement for those who are grieving the death of a loved one and desire to receive encouragement from God’s Word. First, we will have our corporate worship service. Jesus legitimizes our grief process by He Himself setting the example of grieving at the grave of Lazarus where He exercised the ultimate power over the ultimate enemy of death. This will be a time to reflect and remember our loved ones and as we remember Him we can remember them and continue to “grieve with hope.”
For those who would like to move from this corporate time into a small group, you will have the opportunity to further this night of Hope Remembrance by participating in the Surviving the Holidays grief support group to held 7:15-8:45 p.m. in Room WC1315 (North Wing). Facing the upcoming holidays after the death of a loved one can be more difficult than your friends and family members may realize. You will hear people share honestly about surprising emotions that may hit over the holidays, how to handle holiday parties and invitations, as well as how to survive potentially awkward moments with other people. This group will provide comfort, strength and hope as you share with others who’ve also lost a loved one.
