The Sagemont Men’s Ministry seeks to build men who want to take their next step following Jesus by building relationships through community, becoming more Christlike through discipleship, and loving others through service.
Building Relationships Through Community
Throughout the New Testament, we see that discipleship never happened outside of community. In addition, accountability cannot happen outside of community. King Solomon knew this as he wrote in Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Unfortunately, in today’s culture, as many as 60% of men report feeling lonely most or all of the time due to the lack of real, deep, relational community. That is counteractive to the principles found in scripture regarding our discipleship. Community is vital to our health and growth, and the Sagemont Men’s Ministry is committed to building intentional community.
Becoming Christlike Through Discipleship
Jesus Himself told His followers to teach and obey everything He commanded them (Matthew 28:19-20). The only way we will become more like Him is through learning what He taught in the Bible and obeying Him as we put His principles into practice. It’s called discipleship, and it is at the heart of the Church’s purpose. The Sagemont Men’s Ministry is committed to building disciples of Christ.
Loving Others Through Service
In the Gospels, Jesus demonstrates His love for others by serving them. It was a primary purpose for His time on earth: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). We live in a church and in a community where many need to see and feel the hands and feet of Jesus through loving acts of service. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). Service is not only an act of love, it also opens the door for sharing the gospel with others. The Sagemont Men’s Ministry is committed to loving others through service.

Bible Studies for Men
At the core of everything we do is our focus on becoming more like Christ through Bible study and discipleship. We have a number of Bible study group options specifically for men every week at Sagemont, ranging from Sunday morning Connect groups to weekly online small groups to Midweek seasonal studies to weekly White Flag small groups. With many different times and options available, there is a place for every man to be growing in God’s Word!
Breakfasts
Twice a year, the men of Sagemont are invited to gather together on a Saturday morning for breakfast and a program. This time of community will be fun and meaningful as invited speakers encourage and challenge our men to become the men that God designed us to be.
