Baptism

Baptism is a public act of obedience that symbolizes a believer’s faith in Jesus Christ. It is practiced only after a person has made a personal profession of faith, reflecting the conviction that baptism does not save but follows salvation. Baptism by full immersion in water pictures the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, as well as the believer’s own death to sin and new life in Him. It serves as both a testimony of faith to the church and the world, and as an act of identification with Christ and His body, the church. Baptism is an outward declaration of an inward transformation, pointing to the believer’s union with Christ and commitment to follow Him.

If Your Next Step Is Baptism

Please complete the short form below to indicate your desire to be baptized.  You will be receiving an email from our Director of Theological Resource & Instruction, Dr. Denny Autrey.  He is happy to help you!  (Please check your spam folder if you do not receive it within 48 hours).

If you are inquiring for your child, please complete the form with your name and contact info and include your child's name in the Notes area.

Please note that Sagemont Church does not baptize infants, as we believe that baptism should only follow repentance from sin and the acceptance of God's gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
