Professional Counselor - LPC Associate
Andy earned his Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University in 1987 and is certified in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (under the supervision of Mike Schumacher, LPC-S, LMFT). Fundamental to his counseling approach is Andy’s belief that every person is uniquely and wonderfully created in the image of God. Andy works exclusively with adults, and his primary clinical areas of interest include the treatment of depression, anxiety, grief, and sexual addiction. He also has experience offering support to family members caring for loved ones struggling with dementia. Andy is biblically based and Christ-centered in his counseling approach and seeks to help his clients find their identity as children of the Father, unconditionally loved, accepted, and forgiven, apart from their performance and circumstances. An avid musician since childhood, Andy not only sings in his church choir, but he also plays trombone in a local variety band and in brass ensembles during Christmas and Easter services. Andy’s been married to his loving wife since 2012, and they enjoy being dog parents.
