Be more than a guest at Sagemont Church. Become a member. Membership is open to anyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ and has been baptized by immersion.
When you believe that Jesus Christ has the power to forgive your sins and you place your faith in Him, you accept His free gift of salvation and begin your life as a Christian. If you are not familiar with this concept and/or have not yet made the decision to follow Christ, we would love to help you with any questions you may have.
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to his faith in the final resurrection of the dead. Baptism is only available to those who have made the choice to repent from sin and follow Jesus Christ.
All guests and new members at Sagemont Church are highly encouraged to attend Discovery Stop, a one-session class that will help you learn more about Sagemont and who we are as a church. The class meets every Sunday morning at 11:15 in room WC 1127. No registration is required - just come! In this setting you will meet some of our staff members along with hosts who will help you find YOUR place at Sagemont. You will have opportunities to have your questions answered, and you will receive direction for your next steps with us. This is the easiest and best way to start your journey at Sagemont Church. Come check it out this Sunday morning!
If you are new to the Christian faith and need some help in getting started on your new journey, we invite you to the Starting Point iCONNECT class. This interactive and practical four-week class is designed to answer important questions like:
- How do I know I am saved?
- How do I study and understand the Bible?
- How do I pray and talk with God?
- How do I share my love for Jesus to others?
- What are the gifts and abilities God has given me and how can I use them?
Starting Point is team-taught by some of our Sagemont staff (Jonathan Morrison, Wes Holloman) and by one of our members, Milton Brock. Starting Point meets every Sunday at 9:30 am in Room WC1109 (West Wing).
If you have questions about Starting Point, please contact Wes Holloman at or call him at 281.481.7121.
