Sagemont Church was planted as a mission of the First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, on June 1, 1966.  John Morgan was the founding pastor.  Sixteen people comprised the membership.  The church membership now exceeds 20,500 with weekly attendance of over 5,000.  Pastor Morgan remains as the Senior Pastor.
