mutually agreed-upon time by the
instructor and student. Tuition for
lessons ranges from $07 to $20 per

Music Staff
WOODWINDS
Jill
Bartee, Clarinet, has taught
privately on the clarinet for 23
years. While living in El Paso,
she was a member of the El Paso
Symphony, and since coming to
Houston in 1997 has taught
privately all over the Clear
Lake area. (A)
BRASS
Bruce Brown, Horn, has been
a professional musician and
private teacher for nearly
thirty years in the Houston
area. His horn students
regularly excel in regional and
statewide competitions. A former
high school band director, he
also plays regularly in and
serves as assistant director of
the Sagemont Church Orchestra.

STRINGS
Linda
Milliken, Violin/Viola,
earned her Bachelor of Music
Education at West Texas State
University and has taught
privately and in schools for
many years. She has played in
several professional orchestras
in Texas and in other states,
and currently teaches orchestra
in Pasadena I.S.D. (A)
VOICE
Laura Pinard has taught
voice for over 20 years in
Houston and in El Paso. She
studied vocal performance on
full scholarship at the
University of Arizona and has
since worked with students of
all ages. (A)
PIANO
Phyllis Carr received her
music degree in piano from
Oklahoma University and has
since played and taught in
churches and schools. She has
served Sagemont as a pianist for
over 20 years and formerly
directed and coordinated the
children's choir program. (A)
Dayna Durden is a musician
with over 20 years' experience
in our area. She grew up
accompanying both church and
school choirs and continues to
serve in music ministry. She
also has extensive experience in
popular music settings. She has
taught piano to all ages for
sixteen years, the last five
years here at Sagemont.
Currently, Dayna serves in
leadership of the Worship and
Praise Team at First Methodist
Church in Pasadena. (B)
Monica Pike earned her
Bachelor of Music Education
degree from Illinois State
University. A former elementary
music teacher, Monica also has
several years experience in
teaching piano. She serves in
ministry on the Praise Team at
Sagemont Church, and is
available to teach only during
the school day for home school
students or others who would
like to schedule daytime
lessons. (A)
Sue Rothberg has many years
of experience in playing piano
and organ, mostly in church
settings. She has taught piano
for a number of years and has
produced many successful
students at the Sagemont Centre
for the Arts. (A)
GUITAR/BASS
Daniel Pursley, Guitar, has
taught privately for eleven
years. He is an outstanding
guitarist, songwriter, and
musician who is seen playing
often in Sagemont Church worship
services. Daniel serves on the
Sagemont staff as Media Ministry
Associate. (A)
