Purpose
The Counseling Ministry seeks to be “living proof of a loving God to a watching world” by providing soul-care in a Christ-like manner. Our goal is to demonstrate that Sagemont Church is a “safe place” to those who hurt by offering care-giving resources that meet the emotional and spiritual needs of church members and the community.

Philosophy
We are committed to providing care from a Christ-centered and biblically-based perspective. We recognize the Word of God as the ultimate source of truth, and endorse and utilize only those psychological principles and techniques that are compatible with the Scripture.

Vision
Our mission is to facilitate the creation of a “healing community” in which Sagemont Church promotes the following:

  • Marriage and family enrichment
  • Spiritual growth and biblical discipleship
  • Personal healing and lasting recovery
  • Emotional, relational and spiritual “wellness”
  • Equipping of the saints for care-giving ministry and service
  • Training and development of Christian counselors
  • Ministry to staff members and their families
  • Reconciliation and unity within marriages, families and the church
  • Evangelism and community outreach

  • Devastating sexual and physical abuse
  • Toxic guilt or shame and spiritual abuse
  • Chronic anger and resentment
  • Debilitating grief and loss

Services

Testimonies

The Sagemont Church Counseling Ministry provides the finest Bible-based, Christ centered counseling ministry to be found anywhere on earth. This is a safe place to hurt, where everyone is treated with dignity and confidentiality. Our desire is to help you experience the fullness of the love of God in your life.       - John D. Morgan, Senior Pastor

It took me a long time to get over the stigma that a true Christian should never be depressed and that counseling was a sign of weakness. I'm so glad I did! God has used the counseling process to bring real healing to my life.

We had struggled in our marriage for years, and didn't know where to turn for help. A good friend told us about Sagemont's Counseling Ministry. To be honest, I just wanted to be able to say "I tried everything" before I filed for divorce. It's taken a lot of work, but our marriage is better than I ever thought it could be.

My support group has offered me real recovery. It's a place where I don't have to wear a mask. I can be honest, transparent, authentic, and even weak...what God calls the church to be.
