TRIPLE
A
AdventureLand Arts Academy
Children can
explore the Arts in AdventureLand with
more choices than ever before!
Triple A is
our fine arts program for children. It
meets on Sundays from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
The purpose of the program is to assist
children in discovering and using their
gifts and talents in worship.
Younger
children in Pre-K (age 4 as of 9/1/07),
Kindergarten and First Grade attend
Kaleidoscope, where they enjoy singing,
art, movement, snacks and a large group
worship time featuring fun music, a
Bible story and puppets.
Children in
the Second through Sixth Grades attend a
Praise & Worship Assembly each week, and
then they enjoy a “track” of their
choice from the following options:
Choreography
In
Choreography, children use dance to
worship the Lord. They learn basic
dance moves, and they express
themselves through choreographed
movement accompanied by Christian
music.
Choir & Instruments
In Choir
& Instruments, children use their
voices and musical instruments to
worship the Lord. They learn basic
music theory, and they are
introduced to various musical
instruments. They practice these
concepts through singing, playing
instruments and performances.
Art
In the
Art Track, children learn to express
their love for the Lord through
various forms of media. They learn
foundational techniques for
painting, watercolor, pastels, clay
and more. They have the opportunity
to use their new skills to create
works of art that worship God.
Teckie
(for 5th and 6th Grade Students)
Photography, Power Point, video and
amplification are now elements used
in worship in church life. In the
Teckie Track, children are taught
skills in using these forms of media
to enhance worship. Their experience
includes hands-on experiences at the
church and home projects. Access to
a computer at home is recommended.
Drama
In the
Drama Track, children develop their
self-confidence and acting skills
through script writing, memorizing
parts and performing
Christian-themed skits. They explore
concepts such as projection, voice
intonation, and gesturing, and they
also receive personal coaching.
Each semester, all groups in Triple
A feature their gifts and talents in
a performance for parents and
guests.
