frequently asked questions
How long is
the Living Proof Project going to
last?
The Living Proof Project is
scheduled to be a 36-month
commitment.
Will we be
asked to sign pledge cards?
Absolutely not! Each person and/or
family will be asked to pray and ask
God what He would have them to give
each week over the next three years.
The amount will be written on a card
and returned with no name or
signature. This will allow us to see
the total level of commitment in
order to plan and proceed as God
leads His people.
Many
members gave during the 40 weeks
after our 40th Anniversary service
at Reliant Arena and now are being
asked to give again. Is it not
asking too much of our church family
to continue giving for three more
years over and above their regular
tithes and offerings?
If we believe that it is more
blessed to give than to receive, and
if we understand that none of us can
give if God does not supply the
resources, it should excite us that
God has an opportunity to open the
windows of Heaven and pour out
blessings upon His children who are
committed to showing a watching
world that our God is a mighty God
and always meets the needs of His
children.
Do we
really need more space and
additional buildings to fulfill the
purpose and challenge God has given
to Sagemont Church?
Absolutely! We have reached a
saturation point in many of our
ministries and worship services. The
future of our church is at stake.
How will
our mission efforts be affected by
this project?
Our giving to mission efforts will
not go down one penny during the
project, and the opportunities to
participate in focused mission
projects will continue to increase.
Our focus is still on reaching out
to our community and world, and the
new building will only improve our
ability to be effective in being
living proof of a loving God to a
watching world.
What about
my gifts to The Great Adventure
and/or Funding the Vision?
The Living Proof Project is the new
terminology for our capital
expansion. Any gifts marked “The
Great
Adventure” or “Funding the Vision”
will be directed to the Living Proof
Project.
What will
happen to our current auditorium and
adult education space?
We will continue to use all of our
buildings to their fullest
capabilities during the building
program. Our Visionary Team will
continue their feasibility study as
to how to use our existing buildings
when the new building is completed.
“Because of financial
worries I did not think I
was able to give to my
church or feel capable to
serve like I wanted. I
prayed and committed to
start giving. I have seen
miracle and miracle in my
life and family. I am seeing
the promises in scripture
like never before, and they
are becoming real in my
personal life!”
- Testimony from a Sagemont Member
“Raising a large family with
many needs, I just couldn’t
see being able to give to
the special offering. I
prayed, ‘Lord, You know that
I want to give with all my
heart, but I can’t see how.’
God, through a supernatural
way made it
possible for me to give a
large sum of money from a
totally unexpected source.
God is
AWESOME!”
