A Word from Our Executive Pastor

“Count your
blessings; name them one by
one.” That beautiful old
hymn just barely begins to
describe all that our Lord
is doing in our midst. This
past week I accompanied Zeke
Young and a host of the
“Less Than the Least”
ministry volunteers as we
held Sunday services at the
Darrington Prison unit. God
moved in a powerful way, and
I was awed by the passion
and commitment that
Sagemont’s prison volunteers
give to the incarcerated
every single week.
Earlier in the week I met
with members of the Student
Minister Search Team and
Personnel Team. The Student
Minister Search Team has
been working diligently to
find God’s man to lead our
Student Ministry. They have
interviewed several great
candidates, and we are very
close to making an exciting
announcement. Continue to
pray that this team and the
one they are talking to will
be absolutely sure of our
Lord’s “calling and
sending.”
Our Visionary Team is also
working diligently on our
Living Proof Project. To the
average lay person it seems
like “nothing is happening,”
but I can assure you great
progress is being made.
Frank Rigsby and his team
are meeting with the
architects weekly to
finalize the drawings. Jay
Young and his team continue
to move forward on the
landscaping. And, Steve
Maricelli is moving the
Cross Project forward. The
summer and fall promises to
be exciting times as our
campus begins to undergo an
“extreme makeover.”
Last week we received an
update on the progress of
our Television Ministry.
Channel 55 informed us that
our rating was a “.2 with a
5 share.” That translates to
about 12,000 to 13,000
individual viewers. This is
more people than we’ve ever
had in worship in our
42-year history! God is
good. We are taking steps to
improve the quality of our
programming so that we can
all be proud of the Real
Life programs which glorify
our Lord and show authentic
Christianity in the
marketplace.
These are only a few of the
blessings…they are, indeed,
too numerous to list. Make
it a priority to bless
someone this week.
In His
service,
Brother Chuck
