Salt &
Light is comprised of several
different groups of married couples
that combine for a common purpose.
We range from the late 20’s to the
early 40’s but have a few outside
that range. Most have children. We
are engineers, salesmen, shift
workers, and business owners. We
have a large group of home school
families and quite a few that don’t.
Several of our mothers work in the
home, and many work outside the
home. Because of this, the members
of our class seem to have busy,
crazy schedules; and we work with
this in mind.
High Tech, High Touch
We make full use of our SnL Yahoo
Groups. This allows us to stay in
contact via email regarding needs
within the class and various prayer
requests. The website maintains our
calendar with socials, important
dates, and lessons you may have
missed. We even send out an
automatic reminder to bring snacks
if you signed up for that Sunday.
But along with this high tech for
busy individuals, we maintain a high
touch. Our Care Groups help bring a
more intimate relationship between
members. Also, we have an active
social schedule because we know you
can’t be at everything. By having a
lot of scheduled activities, it
allows our members to schedule what
they can without feeling guilty
about missing others activities.
Though a lot of our activities are
scheduled for fun, we also set up
times when we serve others. Based
upon the task, we try to include
children so they can learn and
understand by our example.
What combines us is the whole family
foundation we bring to the class.
So, if you are married, have
children, or are thinking hard about
it, have no idea how to fit another
10 minutes in your schedule, but
realize you need to grow as a couple
and a family in order to be the Salt
and the Light of the world, welcome.
