Victory
is the name we have chosen for our
Bible Study group. It is a name we
feel describes Christians who have
placed their faith and trust in
Jesus. We know that ultimately we
will be victorious over Satan.
There is nothing more gratifying to
a Christian than forming a closer
relationship with God. We do that
via prayer and Bible Study. The
Victory Department (SR2M) believes
that the Bible is the inspired,
inerrant, and infallible Word of
God; and we love to study it. We
cordially invite you to join us on
Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in Room
109.
Our department consists of about 40
seniors ranging in age from the
sixties to the early eighties. We
have married couples, widows, and
widowers, all with grandchildren and
even a few great-grandchildren.
Showing of pictures and a little
bragging on our family members is
permitted and even encouraged. Over
the years our members have formed
very close and lasting friendships,
and we love to share that fellowship
with anyone who wants to study God’s
Word with us.
Each Sunday we begin our Bible Study
with a short department time where
we share praises and prayer
requests. Then we split into two
study groups, one for the ladies and
another for the men. The ladies are
taught by Marilyn Glendenning, and
the men by Gerry Saccane.
This is a relatively small
department compared to some Bible
Study groups, but our size is our
strength. When one hurts, we all
hurt; when one rejoices, we all
rejoice. When one needs help, we all
pitch in. When one is sick, we
visit, care for, and provide food.
When one loses a family member, we
are all there to comfort the
grieving family.
Our department has a social event,
party, or outing about once a
quarter. At these events we do more
than just meet, greet, take a seat,
and eat. We believe that laughter is
one of God’s gifts to His children,
so we have LOTS of fun at these
get-togethers.
When new members join our group,
they are quickly integrated into our
close-knit fellowship. We love to
share our Christian love and
friendship with all who want to
study God’s Word. We hope you will
join us.
