John Mark Benson serves as Associate Pastor of Worship and Praise. He and his wife, Lori, came to Sagemont in October, 2001. They celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary last June, 2008. Ordained to the gospel ministry in November, 1986, John Mark has been in the ministry for over 32 years, serving churches in Ohio, Florida and Oklahoma before coming to Texas their first time in 1980. Their daughter, Mikelle, and her husband, Michael Challenger live in South Florida. Their son, Steven, and his new bride, Gabriela, were married last spring, 2008 and live in the Texas Hill Country. The latest joy of their lives is their grandson, James Michael Challenger, born June 21, 2007! Their grandparent names are “Lolli ‘n Pop”! John Mark and Lori enjoying traveling, boating and antiquing for clocks, as well as spoiling James! They also like collecting antique Bibles and hymnals. They have loved every moment of serving the Lord at Sagemont Church!
