Welcome to Sagemont Church

We are glad you chose to make us a part of your week! If this is your first visit, then just sit back, relax, and be our guest. The following information will help make your time more comfortable at Sagemont Church:

Communication Card – As a guest, we ask that you complete the communication card in the pew rack and place it in one of the offering receptacles as you exit. This will allow you to request any further information about our church or communicate with our staff. Be assured that no one will drop by your home without an appointment or without being invited.

AdventureLand for Your Children – We have caring workers prepared to serve you in our kid-friendly, AdventureLand facilities. This includes a nursery area for your preschoolers. If you choose to bring your baby or small child to the worship service, please be considerate of others around you. If your child becomes restless, we ask that you take him/her immediately to the AdventureLand area.

Concerning the Offering – We do not pass offering plates at Sagemont Church. Our primary purpose is to give and not to receive. If, however, you are a believer and you know the blessings that come from giving as taught in Luke 6:38, you can place your offering in the receptacles located at the exits of the Worship Center and Gym, as well as in the foyers.

Your First Step at Sagemont Church – DISCOVER
For our guests and new members to discover everything about Sagemont Church, the Discovery Class is just for you! It is a four-week class designed to help you understand the beliefs, opportunities, programs, strategy and structure of Sagemont Church. Each of the four sessions is independent, so you may begin on any given Sunday. The Discovery Class meets at 11:00 a.m. every Sunday morning in Room 133 (adjacent to the Bookstore).

Your Next Step at Sagemont Church – CONNECT
If you have found the worship experience to be meaningful here at Sagemont and have attended the Discovery Class, then your journey has just begun. We invite you to take the next step by getting connected in Sunday morning Bible Study (iCONNECT). Our Sunday morning iCONNECT programs allow you to find the “small church” within the “big church” and to develop meaningful relationships as you study God’s word.

Mission and Strategy
... of Sagemont Church is to be people who provide living proof of a loving God to a watching world. To guide you in this mission we use a strategy represented by “The Heart of Living Proof.” The left side of the heart is about receiving as Sagemont provides opportunities for you to worship, connect, and learn. The right side of the heart is about sharing as Sagemont provides opportunities to pray, serve, and give.

What step is God leading you to take today?

Worship: Gathering for one of two weekly worship events – Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Connect: Building relationships, starting in a Sunday morning Bible Study.

Learn: Understanding how to apply the Bible to your life in Sunday morning Bible Study and in various classes, seminars, and groups offered throughout the year.

Pray: Having daily conversation in your personal relationship with God, supported by the Prayer Force Ministry.

Serve: Using your time, spiritual gifts, and abilities to serve others through a wide variety of weekly and one-time ministry opportunities.

Give: Funding the vision of Sagemont Church through weekly giving.

Explanation of New Member Decisions

TRUSTING CHRIST AS MY SAVIOR.

Your sins will be forgiven.
God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. Eph. 4:32, John 6:37, Matt. 9:2, Mark 2:7

God will give you a new life.
The Bible says you will be saved from your sins. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. II Cor. 5:17, Rom. 10:13, Rom. 10:9-10

You will become a child of God.
The spirit beareth witness to our spirit, that we are the children of God. Rom. 8:16

You will never perish but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

You will have power over the devil.
Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Your needs will be met.
But my God shall supply all your needs. Phil. 4:19

And much, much more will be given to you by our Heavenly Father.

MAKING MY COMMITMENT TO BE BAPTIZED.

You will be obeying our Lord’s command.
They that gladly received Him were baptized. Acts 2:41, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:48

You will be following the example of Jesus.
Jesus when He was baptized went up straightway out of the water. Matt. 3:16

You will picture what happened in your life
when Jesus was invited to come in. We are buried with Him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead…we also should walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:4

MOVING MEMBERSHIP FROM A BAPTIST CHURCH.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. Heb. 10:25

MOVING MEMBERSHIP FROM A CHURCH OF ANOTHER DENOMINATION.
Other sheep I have which are not of this fold. John 10:16

MOVING MY MEMBERSHIP FROM A CHURCH THAT NO LONGER EXISTS.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Psalm 107:2
